The Associate of Arts - English credential provides a comprehensive foundation of courses in the Arts and Sciences program with a literature specialization. This credential requires 60 university credits with 18 first- and second-year English credits. For your English credits, you'll get to choose from an impressive number of courses, with a few topics including English, Canadian and American literature, literary theory and criticism, studies in fiction, children's literature and creative writing. You'll also add to your breadth of knowledge, with elective courses in the humanities, laboratory science and social science making up most of your associate degree. High School Requirements - High school graduation
- A minimum grade point average of 2.0 (60%) calculated on English Studies 12 or English 12 or English First Peoples 12 and two academic Grade 12 courses
Current high school students Grade 12 students can apply for conditional admission based on their final Grade 11 and/or interim Grade 12 marks by uploading their most recent grades (e.g., unofficial transcript or a report card) through EducationPlannerBC. Final admission depends on high school graduation and meeting the specific requirements of the program. Note: Applicants from B.C high schools must release their grades to CapU via the BC Ministry of Education at Student Transcripts Services (STS) as soon as possible. |
